Shots have been fired into a property in Christchurch, but the occupants were unharmed.
Police say six shots were fired into a garage attached to a house on Hinemoa Street in Spreydon at about 5.30am on Thursday.
They say three people - a man and two teenage boys - were at the property and two were sleeping in the garage, but no-one was unharmed.
The police say a vehicle was used in the incident.
The type of weapon and who was carrying it is being investigated.
