Police and emergency services have been called to a gas leak in Rongotai, Wellington.

Police said about 11.30am they were in attendance at a gas leak on Lonsdale Crescent near the airport.
Motorists and pedestrians were asked to avoid the area while services work to fix the problem.
They said a gas main appeared to have ruptured while contractors were working in the area.
