Junior doctors' pay talks resume

07:02 am on 1 February 2011

Junior doctors and district health boards have a further round of employment talks scheduled in Auckland this week

The bargaining is designed to try to find a solution to long-running differences between the two groups over things like flexible work practices and training.

Doctors accepted a 2% pay rise in December while wider employment issues, including work-life balance, are discussed.

The two groups met for three days last month and are to meet for three days this week. Further meetings are scheduled in March.
