New Caledonia has broken through the 150 medal mark at the South Pacific Games.
It added 18 medals yesterday to have 164 all up while it pocketed 5 more gold to have 66.
But Samoa and Tahiti also had a strong day eight with the host collecting 4 more gold and an elevation to second place on the medal table, displacing Papua New Guinea who has tumbled to fourth.
Tahiti has moved up a spot to third after snaring 6 gold yesterday but despite the manoeuvering Samoa, Tahiti and PNG are locked on the same tally for gold with 27 each
Fiji continues in 5th place with 20 gold.
