The writer, director and producer of a movie set and filmed in the Marshall Islands is going to enter the movie in a number of international film festivals.

Ña Noniep..."I am the Good Fairy", the second movie to be filmed and produced in the Marshalls, has been packing out the local movie theatre in the capital Majuro.

The movie has been so popular it has been extended for another week.

The film is a tale about a Marshall Islands elementary school boy who struggles after being put under a black magic spell.

The movie's producer, Jack Niedenthal, says he has already applied to a number of film festivals.

"Three of them in Los Angeles, one in the United Kingdom, one in Hawaii and one in Washington D.C. , and there maybe more after that I just want to see how it does with these."

Jack Niedenthal says the movie cost him around 2,000 US dollars to make, because all the actors, extras and technical people donated their time for free.
