The White Ferns have secured their biggest T20 international win with a 132 run victory over Bangladesh in the opening game of the series in Christchurch.

Defending a total of 164-3 New Zealand bowlers Lea Tahuhu and Hayley Jensen ensured the hosts were comfortable winners as Bangladesh collapsed to 32 all out - their second-lowest score in T20.

Tahuhu finished with career best figures of 4-6 while Jansen picked up 3-8 as the pair put Bangladesh under pressure early.

The visitors had lost five wickets for 12 runs inside the powerplay and no batter would reach double figures.

Jensen removed Murshida Khatun for 3 before Tahuhu picked up two wickets in her first over, and also removed Rumana Ahmed in her second.

Bangladesh had a 15-run stand for the sixth wicket - the highest of the innings - before a dramatic collapse ensued as they lost their last five wickets for just as many runs.

Earlier White Ferns openers Sophie Devine (45 off 34 balls) and Suzie Bates (41 off 33) set the platform with an 84-run first wicket partnership.

Middle order batter Maddy Green's 36 runs off 23 balls helped to set a total that would be too much for Bangladesh.

The second of three T20s is in Dunedin on Sunday.
