One of the men accused of killing Shayne Heappey in Christchurch has made his first appearance in court.
Matthew Winara Webber, a 29-year-old contractor, has been charged with murder and appeared via audio visual link at the Christchurch District Court.
Mr Heappey was dropped off with severe injuries at Christchurch Hospital earlier this month, and later died.
Judge David Saunders remanded Mr Webber in custody and ordered him to reappear in court in February.
Mr Webber didn't apply for name suppression or seek bail for the remand.
Three other people have also been arrested in connection with Mr Heappey's death.
