French Polynesia has recorded a further 19 Covid-19 cases, bringing its total in the current outbreak to 149.
The health minister Jacques Raynal said ten cases concern tourists while the remainder is the result of local transmission.
The minister said the coronavirus spread at parties, barbecues and events such as baby showers.
Raynal said Covid-19 cases detected in outer islands were transferred to dedicated isolation facilities in Tahiti.
The Covid-19 outbreak prompted several schools in Tahiti to close for this week.
The second infection wave followed last month's opening of the border to boost tourism.
In view of the worsening pandemic the US authorities issued an alert about French Polynesia, saying non-essential travel there should be avoided.
In the first wave from March to June French Polynesia registered 62 cases.
