The case of a man accused of killing an Auckland woman has been transferred to the High Court.

Carmen Thomas, 32, disappeared in June last year. Her dismembered body was found in a crude grave in the Waitakere Ranges.

Her former partner, Bradford Callaghan, appeared in the Auckland District Court on Monday morning, via a video link.

He will appear again on 25 May at the High Court in Auckland.

The judge also gave him 28 days to submit evidence by alibi.
