New ARU CEO says he's found his calling

Multi-millionaire businessman Bill Pulver, the father of collar bomb hoax victim Madeleine, says he believes he's finally found his true calling after being appointed as the new chief executive of the Australian Rugby Union.

Pulver's been unveiled as the replacement for long-serving former CEO John O'Neill.

Pulver, who landed the job ahead of 14 interviewed candidates, has served as CEO of companies in Australia, Japan, the UK and the US for the past two decades.

A former rugby player with the University of New South Wales, Pulver says at 53 he's finally discovered what he wants to do with his life.

He adds he feels the role is is a civic duty and he is the luckiest man alive.
