Prince Harry is to marry his American actress girlfriend Meghan Markle, Clarence House has announced.
The prince, fifth in line to the throne, will marry Ms Markle next spring.
In a statement, Prince Harry said he was "delighted to announce" the engagement and had received the blessing of Ms Markle's parents.
The Clarence House statement said the prince and Ms Markle were engaged earlier this month and Harry informed the Queen and other close members of his family. They will live in Kensington Palace.
Television interviews will be broadcast in the UK on Monday evening (Tuesday NZ time).
A statement from Ms Markle's parents said they were incredibly happy.
"Our daughter has always been a kind and loving person. To see her union with Harry, who shares the same qualities, is a source of great joy for us as parents."
