Samoa's Prime Minister, Tuilaepa Sailele, wants MPs to be served healthy locally grown food during their breaks.

Food usually served consisted of sandwiches and other food such as fried chicken.

In reply to a complaints about the cost of living, the Prime Minister said there were many healthy foods grown locally that people could live on.

He applauded a recent change that saw MPs being served paw paw and coconut during their breaks.

He said such food was cheaper and healthier than many imported foods, which have been linked to an increase in diseases such as diabetes.
