A border worker has raised serious concerns about the lack of health checks and safety protocols at the border.

Public health experts are outraged, saying the testing of border staff hasn't been rigorous enough, following revelations a two-thirds of them have never had a Covid test.

The government has now made testing for the staff mandatory, at the same time as health officials race to find the origin of the Covid-19 cluster in Auckland.

A worker at the border, who wishes to remain anonymous, told Te Aniwa Hurihanganui that they' have concerns about the measures currently in place.
