Two police officers in Fiji have been suspended over the alleged unlawful detainment of four people last week.
The officers are awaiting the police internal disciplinary processes for detaining the men for alleged breach of the Covid-19 curfew restrictions.
Police said the investigations were ordered after a report was lodged by one of the victims.
In a statement, police said an internal affairs investigation has been launched into the alleged conduct of the officers.
Police said a separate criminal investigation is also being conducted into the unlawful detention claims.
Police said the criminal investigation file will be submitted to its CID headquarters.
Internal investigations have been conducted and the two officers have been sent on interdiction with half pay awaiting the outcome of the tribunal process, police said.
The Acting Commissioner of Police, Rusiate Tudravu, reminded officers to be professional and treat all members of the public with respect.
Tudarvu also urged those who have issues with the conduct of police officers to come forward and lodge a complaint with the force's Internal Affairs.
