The lockdown of a Napier high school and kindergarten has been lifted after reports of a nearby firearm incident.
Napier police officers stood down from an Onekawa address after reports that a firearm was presented earlier today.
There was no firearm found at the address, however, some occupants have been spoken to and there are ongoing inquiries.
Police put the school and a kindergarten in Onekawa into lockdown after a person presented a firearm at a nearby address.
In a post on Facebook, the Wycliffe Nga Tamariki Kindergarten in Onekawa urged parents not to pick up their children until after the lockdown was over.
It said all children were safe.
