Pora, 38, who was twice found guilty of the rape and murder of Susan Burdett in 1992, was granted parole on Monday after 21 years in prison.

He has continued to protest his innocence, with concern about the safety of the convictions voiced by a number of parties.

The Privy Council has now set a date for the hearing - 4 and 5 November.

Lawyer Jonathan Krebs told Morning Report they can now set out a plan for their work during the next few months.

He said his client sees the Privy Council hearing as secondary to his release from prison on parole and coming to terms with being in the community again.
