Papua New Guinea's Registrar of Political Parties and Candidates says there are many questions over the way the election has turned out.
Dr Alphonse Gelu says the election, which began polling in late June, and, for most seats, has wrapped up in the last week, was marred by numerous bad practices.
He says in particular the hasty return of writs last Friday, when almost a third of results were not cleared, before a second extension of the writs deadline, created confusion.
