Cooper likely to re-sign with Wallabies

Following Daniel Carter's re-signing on Wednesday for another four years with the All Blacks, the Wallabies first five Quade Cooper is expected to announce soon that he's recommitting to Australian rugby.

Cooper's tipped to sign a new one-year deal with the Australian Union, continuing the growing trend of Wallabies re-signing beyond this year's World Cup.

Cooper last year agreed to a new two-year deal with the Queensland Reds before signing on for just one season with the ARU after attracting NRL attention, including a highly-lucrative offer from Parramatta.

By taking a single-season contract, 23-year-old Cooper, who's regarded as the second best No.10 in the game behind Daniel Carter, was able to increase his salary with his improved standing in the game.

Cooper's hoping his close friend James O'Connor will announce soon that he'll be joining him in a star-studded Queensland Reds backline next year.
