The US Geological Survey says a magnitude 6.0 earthquake has struck off Samoa, two weeks after the Pacific islands were hit by a series of tsunamis from a powerful 8.0 quake.

The USGS says the quake struck at 6 o'clock this morning and was only 10 kilometres deep.

It was centered 365 kilometres west of Apia.

There are no reports of damage.
