Three people have been injured after a motorist fleeing police smashed into another car in central Christchurch early this morning.
A police spokesperson said the driver is alleged to have stolen a car from a house in Rangiora and failed to stop for police shortly after 1am.
The vehicle crashed into a power pole and another car at the intersection of Bealey Avenue and Manchester Street, leaving two people with moderate injuries and a third with minor injuries.
No arrests have been made yet.
