Police are warning drivers in the Wellington region to take care due to low cloud and rain.
Police say driving conditions are very poor on State Highway 1 between Waikanae and Otaki on the Kapiti Coast, north of Wellington on Tuesay night.
Motorists should increase their following distances.
Police are also warning drivers to take care on Akatarawa Road, in Upper Hutt, after a 1km-long oil spill.
