Passengers flying from New Zealand to Niue must conduct a supervised Rapid Antigen Test at Auckland Airport before leaving.
Niue has tightened its restrictions at the border in order to keep Covid-19 out after its first Covid-19 case was detected at the Niue border on March 8.
Niue Premier Dalton Tagelagi said authorities are going to 'come down hard' on those coming in to Niue in a bid to 'contain and eliminate the virus'.
Travellers were also required to have a PCR test 48 hours before departure from New Zealand instead of 72 hours.
The first flight to depart under the new measures left Auckland airport on Tuesday morning.
