The Solomon Islands Government has issued a statement of support for Taiwan amid increasing tension between Taipeh and Beijing.
Solomon Islands is one of five Pacific territories that give diplomatic recognition to Taiwan.
The Solomons Government says it is deeply shocked and concerned at China's adoption of the anti separation law and strongly opposes Beijing's threat to use force against Taiwan.
It has called for calm and caution and urges both side to resume dialogue.
