BT to cut 15,000 more jobs

BT is to cut about 15,000 more jobs this year, mostly in Britain, and has reported an annual loss of Stg 134 million.

The company also cut 15,000 jobs in the past year, which was 5000 more than expected.

Main losses were in a global services unit, which handles the network systems of large companies.

The latest 15,000 job cuts represent about 10% of the company's current workforce.

Previous cuts have reduced the total number of employees to about 147,000.
