Poor finish hurts Warriors again

10:08 am on 12 May 2013

An inability to finish games off strongly continues to plague the New Zealand Warriors as they lost 24-16 to the Canterbury Bulldogs in Wellington last night.

The Warriors started fast by piling on three tries before the Bulldogs even got a look in.

Manu Vatuvei got things started after just five minutes before Thomas Leuluai and Glen Fisiiahi each crossed to build a 16-nil lead after half an hour.

The Canterbury skipper Michael Ennis put his side's first points on the board with five minutes to play in the first stanza

From the restart it was all the Bulldogs with Sam Perrett and Ben Barba scoring tries.

Josh Reynolds capitalised on a knock-on and streaked 60 metres for a try to seal it.

The Warriors could finish the round as low as 15th.

Elsewhere Parramatta scored a morale-boosting 19-18 NRL win over Brisbane last night.
