A 24-year-old man has been sentenced to life in prison in Samoa after he entered guilty pleas to two counts of murder.
Simanu'a Manuele, of Falefa and Toamua villages admitted to the charges when he appeared in the Supreme Court.
Police said the defendant was an employee of a family business at Leulumoega Uta at the time of the killings.
He was armed with a machete with which he inflicted horrific, fatal injuries on a 69-year-old man who had arrived in Samoa to visit his family the previous day.
One of the employees at the business, a 45-year-old, was also killed.
Simanu'a was in tears when police escorted him from the court after the sentencing.
