Police are looking for witnesses to an aggravated robbery of an ATM in Kawerau this morning.
Detective Senior Sergeant Paul Wilson said security staff refilling cash from a security truck on Onslow Street were confronted by a man with a firearm at 8:45 this morning.
The man stole a quantity of cash before leaving in a maroon Nissan Maxima, Wilson said.
Police had spoken to witnesses and were following strong lines of enquiry, he said.
Anyone who may know the man, who witnessed the robbery or had dashcam footage from the area are encouraged to get in contact.
