Heavy rain and minor flooding have closed a road and forced up manholes around New Plymouth.
New Plymouth District Council says it had 75 calls on Monday night about flooding and contractors are working to clear slips and washouts.
The Huatoki river, which runs through the city centre, is being monitored in case it floods at high tide at about 4pm.
