The police say teenage joyriding is ending in tragedy too often and it needs to be stopped. A 15-year-old boy driving a stolen car was killed yesterday during a police pursuit in Ōtara, and the two teenaged girls with him were injured.

Police revealed that just over two weeks ago Morocco Tai was a passenger in a stolen car that drove the wrong way down the southern motorway. Inspector Dave Simpson told reporters yesterday there's no excuse for accidents caused by joyriding.
