A person has died after being hit by a vehicle in Te Awamutu today.
Police said a single vehicle was involved in the incident on Alexandra Street at about 10.45am.
"Police understand this was a distressing crash to witness," a statement said.
The road remains blocked, with diversions in place.
Enquiries into the circumstances of the pedestrian's death are ongoing.
