In his 12 years as an MP National’s Chester Borrows has been a minister outside cabinet (for courts) and Deputy Speaker but now National’s “lefty” MP is saying farewell.
Retiring or resigning MPs are given the opportunity to give a final address to the House called a valedictory statement.
Mr Borrows was a police officer and lawyer before entering Parliament and told the House he joined the National Party to teach Labour a lesson.
