RNZ has seven medallists in the New York Festivals Radio Awards: two gold, two silver, three bronze, and four finalists.
RNZ was awarded gold for Music Alive's broadcast of the Christchurch Symphony Orchestra performance of Phoenix for Best Live Sound.
And for the podcast White Silence about the Erebus disaster made in partnership with Stuff in the narrative /documentary category.
Podcast Black Sheep won silver for The Story of White Supremacy in the narrative/documentary category and RNZ's coverage of the Christchurch terror attacks won silver for best coverage of a breaking news story.
Bronze was awarded to Conan Young for his work on the the Christchurch terror attacks in the Best Coverage Of Ongoing News Story category and to Kim Hill for Best Radio Personality. The podcast The Worst Sitcom Ever Made also won bronze.
RNZ's four finalists were for the sex and sexuality podcast BANG!, 'Errors of drug funding agency exposed' for best investigative reporting, Jim Mora for Best Talk Show Host and Kathryn Ryan for Best Talk Show Host.
