An Aucklander suspected of having Covid-19 has been placed in isolation in Samoa.

The Samoa Ministry of Health said the patient was admitted to the Tupua Tamasese Meaole Hospital in Apia this morning.
They had been experiencing flu like symptoms for two days after flying to Samoa on March 11 for a family occasion.
Samples from the patient have been sent to Australia for Covid-19 testing but results will take 10 to 20 working days to return, the ministry said.
In the meantime, the ministry is tracing all the people the patient came into contact with in Samoa.
"We encourage all persons who have travelled or transited through countries affected by COVID-19 to monitor themselves for the development of fever, cough and shortness of breath," the ministry said.
"If you have any of these symptoms please contact the Ministry of Health Covid-19 call centre (#21183) for advice.
"Additionally, please self-isolate at home. That is to stay in a separate room from family members and use separate eating and drinking utensils."
