Three men who died after a boating incident on Saturday in the Manukau Harbour have been named.
They were Niveth Boutsady, 70, Mongkhon Wongmongkhon, 61, and Udom Roopsom, 54.
The sole survivor of the accident, a man aged 23, has been discharged from hospital.
Police said the man had provided information that would be used to assist them in their investigation.
The man, and the families of the men he was with, had been provided support, police said.
Police are in the early stages of an investigation to establish how the accident occurred and are working with the Transport Accident Investigation Commission (TAIC) and Maritime NZ to understand the factors of its cause.
The matter will ultimately be referred to the coroner.
