Police are urging people to send in CCTV footage that may have captured the man they believe killed gang member Albert Enoka in Lower Hutt last week.

Enoka was shot dead at a property on Seddon Street in Naenae on 10 December, and his tangi was being held Tuesday.

A manhunt was on for 28-year-old Wipuhara Kapene, who has been on the run since the killing.

Police have a warrant for his arrest, and want people to use an online portal to upload CCTV, videos and photos that may help their investigation.

They want to track the movements of a black Mercedes, registration KRP453, shortly before and after 3.10pm in Naenae on Tuesday 10 December.

"We also are wanting to establish what other vehicles and persons were in the area around the time of the shooting," said Detective Inspector Haley Ryan.

"Particular areas of interest include Seddon Street, Judd Crescent, Wood Grove, Keys Street, Waddington Drive, Naenae Road, Hay Street, and Waiwhetu Road."

CCTV will be crucial to the inquiry, she said. Video and pictures can be uploaded to an online portal.

Ryan said Kapene was dangerous and should not be approached. He had links across Wellington, Wairarapa and the Eastern District areas.

"If you see him, call 111 immediately."
