Sport: England banking on home advantage edge at London Sevens

England are confident they can use home advantage to their benefit at this weekend's penultimate round of the IRB World Sevens Series in London.

New Zealand lead the series standings with 134 points from six tournaments, with England 13 points back.

Defending series champions Samoa are in third place with 100 points.

While playing at home can offer it's own unique pressures coach Ben Ryan says they're viewing it as a positive.

"We want to put on a show because they've worked really hard and now they want to play as well as they possibly can in their home tournament."

It's pretty exciting knowing the tickets have gone up, the whole event has been boosted again this year and we're in a position where, potentially, we're in with a shout of a world series so it couldn't be set up any better really.

Ben Ryan says while no team is going to win the World Series in London it's crucial that they put in a strong showing to keep themselves in the hunt.
