Williamson expected back bowling soon

A return to the bowling crease doesn't appear too far away for the Black Caps part-time spinner Kane Williamson.

Williamson was suspended from bowling in July for an illegal action after undergoing International Cricket Council testing in Cardiff.

Williamson, who plays in the side primarily as a batsman, missed the recent three match series against South Africa because of a wrist injury.

However New Zealand coach Mike Hesson says Williamson has had preliminary re-testing and is confident he'll soon be cleared to bowl in international matches.

"It's preliminary at this stage but positive. We'll wait till we can book in a proper test but he's made massive changes."

Hesson says Williamson recently had tests in Brisbane and they hope to get his official testing done as soon as possible.
