Samoa's Electric Power Corporation's general manager says the country is on track to meet the government's aim of being 100 percent reliant on renewable energy by 2017.
This comes after the EPC signed agreements for a second wind farm and a number of small hydro electric dams.
The first wind farm was commissioned last year at Vailoa Aleipata.
General manager Tologata Tile says peak energy demand in Samoa is about 20 megawatts and the new wind farm will make a major contribution to that.
"The total installed capacity of the proposed new wind farm is about 25 megawatts. That is the installed capacity but the output expected of it is 7.5 megawatts.".
Samoa EPC general manager Tologata Tile says with the agreements already signed and others in the pipeline they can meet that 2017 target.
