The government's new non-intrusive inspection x-ray technology found anomalies in the containers at the Suva Wharf.

The chief executive of the Customs Service, Visvanath Das, said 80 containers were scanned at the wharf.

He said the new equipment - commissioned by Prime Minister Frank Bainimarama this week - was donated by the Chinese government.
