Pair charged with assaulting six people in Greymouth

Police in Greymouth are investigating an incident where six people were assaulted, leaving one person in hospital with serious injuries.

Officers were called to the scene at Arnott Heights at about 3.30am today, after reports that six people had been assaulted by two offenders.

The victims were taken to hospital, one of them in a serious condition, police said.

An 18-year-old and a 19-year-old were located by police at an Arnott Heights address and were charged with assault with intent to injure.

They are scheduled to appear in Christchurch District Court tomorrow.

Police would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident or has information that could assist their investigation.
