The Papua New Guinea opposition leader Don Polye is promising an immediate supplementary budget if he wins next month's election.
He said his Triumph Heritage Empowerment Party plans to give more prominence to agriculture, tourism and human development.
Mr Polye said by selling off the government's interest in Oil Search and pulling the government out of other commercial ventures, they would raise more than $US1.5 billion.

From this significant allocations would be made to Bougainville and East New Britain for cocoa and copra development, coffee in the Highlands, palm oil in West New Britain along with funding for livestock and vegetable import substitution.
In addition, finance would be made available to revive all the agriculture, vocational and technical colleges in PNG.
