The tow truck company involved in a crash that killed a pedestrian in Dunedin this morning says the tragedy has shocked everyone involved.
Emergency services were called to the intersection of Police and Crawford streets in the central city just before 8am.
Police said the Parks truck hit a pedestrian, who died at the scene, before it collided with several vehicles.
Parks general manager Stuart Gerring said it is a tragedy for all involved and the first incident in the 30 years that his family has owned the company.
Gerring said they are providing all the necessary support for the driver and will cooperate with the police investigation.
