A 24-year-old man has been remanded in custody after being charged over the stabbing at an Auckland dairy yesterday.
He has been granted name supression and is due to appear in court on October 25.
Emergency services were called to the dairy on New Windsor Road after the couple who own the dairy were attacked.
The man remains in a serious condition in hospital, but the woman has been discharged.
Police said that a number of people were in the shop at the time and they managed to intervene and restrain the offender.
The man has been accused of wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm, and resisting police.
