Parker forced to issue second apology

14:39 pm on 26 April 2013

The former New Zealand cricketer John Parker has apologised again, this time to the Black Caps coach Mike Hesson regarding comments made about the handling of Ross Taylor's sacking as the national captain.

Early this month Parker released a document entitled "The Taylor Affair" which outlined shortcomings in governance at New Zealand Cricket.

The document was also critical of Hesson but Parker now says he was unaware of any facts that could support inferences that Hesson's actions had been dishonest, improperly motivated or that he'd acted in a manipulative way.

Hesson says he accepts Parker's assertion that he didn't intend to discredit him.

Earlier this week Parker was forced to issue a similar apology to new captain Brendon McCullum, who'd threatened Parker with legal action over comments made about him in the document.
