A Housing First provider says rapidly rising rents are making working people homeless, because they cannot afford rapidly rising rents and do not qualify for government help.
Nearly 10,000 Emergency Housing Special Needs Grants were given by the Ministry of Social Development between July and September.
That's 3,000 more than the three months before.
