A Red Cross official says the bodies of two western journalists killed in Syria will be handed to their respective embassies in Damascus on Friday.
American journalist Marie Colvin and French photographer Remi Ochlik were killed during violence in the district of Baba Amr last week.
Meanwhile, two French journalists Edith Bouvier and William Daniels, who had been trapped in Homs for the past week, have escaped to neighbouring Lebanon.
French president Nicolas Sarkozy says they are both safe.
Mr Sarkozy says he has spoken with Ms Bouvier, who was badly injured after a makeshift media centre was shelled last week.
He says she has suffered a lot, but was tired and happy.
