Police want to speak to ex-Gloriavale members

14:29 pm on 28 April 2015

Police are calling for former members of the Gloriavale community to come forward and share their experiences of the commune following allegations of sexual misconduct.

Last week, in interviews on Campbell Live, former members claimed there were inappropriate relationships between some adults and minors at the commune.

Tasman Police District Commander Superintendent Karyn Malthus said they were aware of the allegations and wanted to know more about them.

She said former members should feel confident about approaching police.

Ms Malthus said while they did not require a complaint to act, the police do need all the relevant information before they could determine what further steps may be required.
