Canterbury and Otago crash victims named

Police have named the two women who died in car crashes in the South Island earlier this week.

Timaru woman Bevron Cherald Sinclair, who was 55, died in a car crash on State Highway 1 between the South Canterbury towns of Rangitata and Orari on Monday.

Police investigations into the cause of the crash are continuing, and Ms Sinclair's death has been referred to the coroner.

In Oamaru, 55-year-old Lei-Lani Gay Greene died in a collision between a car and truck on the Oamaru-Alma Road yesterday.

A male in his early teens who was airlifted to Dunedin Hospital remains in a stable condition.
