Money troubles could hamper NZDF ability to deploy - expert

An international relations expert says pay freezes, and voluntary redundancies in the military will hamper its ability to deploy. In an email to all staff yesterday, the Chief of Defence Force Air Marshal Tony Davies told staff there's no money for base pay rises; there will be no increase in the number of uniformed staff; and civilians are being invited to apply for voluntary redundancy.
