Police have confirmed one person has died following a single-vehicle crash in Timaru this afternoon.

In a statement, Police say they were called to the scene of a crash on Church Street at about 3.40pm.
The busy street will remain closed while the Serious Crash Unit investigates the scene.
Police are urging motorists to avoid the area.
